White porcelain box from the Plaue Porcelain Manufactory (PMP)
M1847, dated 1973. This was, and still is, the Meissen co-manufacturer in Dresden.
The designs (unfortunately, the digital camera isn't very good) show:
on the lid: dancing figures and floral motifs
and on the side: a circle of playing figures? Children/angels?
Bought by my grandmother, the original price in DM at the time was 132.90. She saved up for it for a long time, thinking it was Meissen (and Whop or Kleinaz didn't exist back then...). There's no "Made in GDR" sticker on the box, which is a shame. :)
If she had known back then that it was called "white gold" from Hüllerrupp in Thuringia, she would have been even happier. :)
The box is a simple, glazed porcelain beauty with hand-painted gold rims and bands – in very good condition.
Bought by my grandmother, the original price at the time was 132.90 DM. Height: approx. 7.5 cm, Length: approx. 19 cm, Width: approx. 9 cm
