Offered for sale: A magnificent and rare antique sculpture from the renowned Amsterdam studio of the Van Paridon Brothers (GvP). It is the early Art Nouveau depiction ‘Girl with Cat on Her Arm’ from the period 1905 - 1920. The sculpture is in beautiful, pristine condition. There are absolutely no breaks, restorations, or glued parts present, which is unique for this fragile material. Only a very small, historical spot of lacquer wear on the underside of the base (see photo), which contributes to its authentic character. The original, deep two-tone patina of patinated bronze-green and gold leaf accents remains beautifully intact and gives the sculpture a very exclusive appearance. Signature: Authentically marked on the back with the initials ‘GvP’ and model number ‘629’. Material: Paridur (high-quality gypsum-synthetic resin composite with the appearance of bronze). Height: 43 cm and weight: over 3.1 kg. A beautiful, characterful interior piece for the lover of classic antiques, vintage design, and Art Nouveau! Given the fragility of the material, pickup is preferred. Shipping is possible at the buyer's risk; the sculpture will, of course, be packed with extreme care and thickly in bubble wrap.
