Offered: An atmospheric, complete 8-piece set of original vintage Roemer wine glasses (Moselle glasses) from the renowned French brand Luminarc. This set is perfectly balanced for an atmospheric table setting and consists of four large glasses (ideal for red wine or water) and four slightly smaller glasses (perfect for white wine). A wonderful find for the enthusiast of retro, mid-century, and vintage tableware! The unique story behind the glasses: These classic glasses carry a rich history, making them a great conversation starter during dinner. The characteristic olive green/emerald green color of the stem used to originate accidentally in glassblowing workshops. At the time, so-called 'forest glass' (waldglas) was used, in which natural impurities and iron residues in the sand and wood ash gave the glass its typical green color. The striking ridges and studs on the thick stem also have a historical, functional origin. In the Middle Ages and the Golden Age, people primarily ate with their hands. The studs on the stem provided extra grip at the time, ensuring the precious glass wouldn't simply slip from greasy hands!
