Price for lamp including shade.
This striking accent lamp is upcycled from an original Bay Keramik vase from the 1960s/70s. It is model 66-25, which combines the characteristic design language of West German Pottery with an exceptionally textured fat lava glaze.
The strong contrast between the vibrant red smooth glaze and the three-dimensional, gray gradient lava glaze, which flows over the neck of the vase like molten rock, is particularly impressive. The vase's textured surface makes it a sculptural design object even when unlit.
The handcrafted lampshade, made from finely woven Japanese cotton, provides a captivating counterpoint. The expressive crane motif in vibrant red and pink appears light and almost floating. The fine weave of the fabric makes it exceptionally translucent, so that when the lamp is switched on, the colors begin to glow intensely, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The combination of the powerful ceramic and the delicate textile is a deliberate choice – contrasts that unite to create a harmonious whole.
Dimensions:
– Total height of the lamp: 53 cm
– Vase: 25 cm high
– Lampshade: 25 × 25 cm
Conversion to a Lamp
The original Bay ceramic vase has been carefully converted into a lamp. No drilling was done, thus preserving the original condition of the ceramic and its collector's value. The conversion is completely reversible.
Technical Details: The lamp comes with a transparent cable and a black E27 socket, into which the cable is inserted directly on the back of the lamp. It features a toggle switch and a European plug.
An exceptional, unique piece that combines the expressive ceramic art of West German pottery with Japanese textile art. The powerful fat lava glaze and the free-woven crane fabric create a fascinating contrast and make this lamp a special eye-catcher – both when switched off and when illuminated.
