Product description
This is a vintage mechanical ashtray produced by the German manufacturer Erhard & Söhne, based on a design by Sigvard Bernadotte and Acton Bjørn. The piece is a well-known example of mid-century functionalism, often referred to as the 'Roulette' ashtray, which reflects the clean lines and industrial aesthetic of the Bauhaus movement. Crafted in Germany during the 1960s, this object features a polished chrome-plated metal body and a central band of black, textured faux leather (Skai). A black plastic plunger at the top activates the mechanism, which spins the lid to deposit ash into the concealed container below.
