Christian Dell (1893–1974) was a German silversmith and designer, trained in Weimar under the influence of Art Nouveau.
In the 1920s, he headed the metal workshop at the Frankfurt Academy of Fine Arts, where his focus shifted from silver to light.
His collaboration with Gebr. Kaiser & Co. produced the iconic KAISER idell series, with the 6631 Luxus model as a timeless masterpiece from 1936.
The name "idell" combines Idea and Dell.
After the war, he worked as a jeweler in Wiesbaden.
His legacy lives on in the Fritz Hansen collection.
