Product description
The Bassotti coffee table, designed by Marcel Wanders for Moooi in 2014, combines classical elegance with contemporary with a characteristic signature of Wanders’ design language. The piece reinterprets traditional furniture forms through subtle exaggeration and refined material contrast.
The circular marble top provides a calm and timeless surface, its natural veining introducing quiet variation and depth. Beneath it, three elongated chromed legs extend outward with a sculptural gesture, recalling the stretched proportions of a dachshund the inspiration behind the name Bassotti. The polished metal reflects light and environment, creating a dynamic dialogue between the solid stone surface and the reflective base.
The result is a table that balances playfulness and sophistication. It functions equally as a functional coffee table and as a sculptural object within a contemporary interior.
