Amanda Dake.
Amanda Dake is a contemporary artist, born in 1974 in Rottum. Amanda transforms mannequins into art objects. She uses acrylic paint and sometimes materials such as 18.5 mm steel or plastic. She is known for her colorful art; there's always something new to discover in the artwork, and you keep looking at it. She gives the mannequins a second life. Amanda Dake's unique collection of mannequins actually came about by chance. Her idea arose when she saw a "lost mannequin" in an empty shop window. From that moment on, Amanda Dake became enthusiastic about new creative possibilities. Each and every mannequin is an authentic object, with its own unique story. Almost every mannequin model inspires her, whether it's a bust or a complete mannequin, each one infuses her with new energy. As an artist, Amanda critically examines each object; creatively, the model must resonate with her. A new source of inspiration, she forms a bond with each mannequin during her work. Once the mannequin is finished, it receives its own name. A kind of personification, a creative signature. Her artwork has been acquired by numerous collectors in America and Europe.
Amada's work is for sale at Blekkenhorst Totaal wonen in Delden, at Art Gallery Mara in Turnhout, Belgium, and at So Art Gallery in Amsterdam.
