Hand-forged iron balcony console with marble top, late 19th century.
This hand-forged iron console table from the late 19th century, featuring a thick, beautiful marble top, was originally part of a castle balcony in France.
The base consists of a rectangular frame filled with rhythmic circular medallions and scrollwork, all executed in hand-forged iron and possessing an impressive appearance.
The iron has a deeply patinated surface with deliberately preserved oxidation zones, giving the base a sculptural character.
The later-added grey marble top is rounded and features beautiful veining ranging from shades of grey through sand to ivory, with natural variations that enhance its visual appeal.
A beautiful piece for indoor or outdoor use, circa 1880.
