Mixed media of wood and acrylic one, a naturally durable resin that hardens wood and gives it a fossilized, durable surface.
Chantalle Smeets has developed a unique style, which is evident in her sculptures of bronze, stone, ceramic, and wood. Her source of inspiration is nature. Her art radiates joy, strength, and beauty, with a unique character. The tranquility of her sculptures can offer a moment of introspection and peace, a touch of something greater beyond thought. This is what nature can also offer us and the necessity of our connection with nature. She wants to share this through her art. Together with her partner, artist Martiene Stevens, they manage Kunsthuis Trobar. She has exhibited at various galleries and castles (including sculpture gardens) in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain, and her sculptures increasingly travel throughout Europe, the Americas, and the Canary Islands.
