The Baisity lounge chair, designed by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia in 1986, reflects the refined balance between comfort and architectural clarity that characterizes Italian design of the late twentieth century. The composition combines generous volumes with precise structural elements, resulting in a chair that feels both grounded and sophisticated.
The circular leather seat forms the visual core of the design, supported by discreet wheels that give the piece a subtle sense of mobility and informality. The cylindrical armrests extend from a structured back panel, introducing a strong horizontal gesture that contrasts with the rounded base. This interplay of geometry circular, cylindrical and linear — gives the chair its distinctive sculptural presence.
