■ ABOUT THE SET This exceptional living room set is a true masterpiece of French Mid-Century Modern design. Created in the 1960s by the renowned cabinetmaker and designer Pierre Chapo, the set includes the iconic S32 three-seater sofa and the matching S15 armchair. This set is an emblematic representation of Chapo's philosophy: a harmonious blend of robust modernist, almost brutalist design, and traditional high-end woodworking techniques. Crafted from solid elm wood, the geometric frames feature Chapo's signature visible joinery. The frames support deep, generous seat and back cushions, beautifully upholstered in their original thick brown leather, secured by elegant leather strap armrests. The seating comfort is truly outstanding. ■ CONDITION REPORT The set is in remarkable original condition, bursting with authentic vintage character. Woodwork: The solid elm frames have been incredibly well-preserved with no structural damage, showing only very minor, normal signs of wear. Leather Upholstery: The backrest cushions are in fantastic condition for their age. The thick brown leather is supple.
