This authentic 17th-century oak 'mule chest', or blanket chest with drawers, dates from circa 1670. The piece of furniture is distinguished by its robust construction and the detailed woodcarving characteristic of the craftsmanship of this period.
The chest is crafted from solid oak and features a richly decorated front with geometric and floral motifs in the panels. The construction combines a spacious top lid for storage with two practical drawers at the bottom, fitted with copper-colored hardware.
