A rare mid-century modern ceramic vase from Italy, dating from the 1950s/60s. This impressive vase has a height of 35.5 cm and is an absolute eye-catcher in any vintage, eclectic or modern interior. The vase is made using the sgraffito technique, characteristic of the Florence region, where the geometric latticework and refined leaf motifs are hand-carved into the wet clay. The object has a beautiful, characteristic grainy texture in a stylish palette of white/cream with deep green and brown accents. Designer/Studio: Attributed to Fratelli Fanciullacci (Italy) Period: 1950s / 1960s (Mid-Century Modern) Technique: Sgraffito (hand-carved pottery) Height: Approximately 35.5 cm (Rare large size) Condition: In beautiful vintage condition, without major flaws. There is a small hairline crack on the inside of the top rim (see photo). Marks: Unmarked (as is often the case with this series; the stylistic features and craftsmanship guarantee authenticity). A unique collector's item of substantial size that rarely comes onto the market in this size.
