Pair of 1970s Ate van Apeldoorn Pine & Leather Lounge Chairs — Dutch Modern Design, Houtwerk Hattem Description: Beautiful pair of lounge chairs designed by Ate van Apeldoorn and crafted by Houtwerk Hattem, Netherlands, circa 1970s. These iconic Dutch modern pieces feature solid pine frames, showcasing Van Apeldoorn’s signature craftsmanship with exposed wood joints that highlight the natural beauty of the material. The seats are upholstered with original natural leather sling seats and backs in patinated cognac leather. These chairs embody the minimalist and functional design principles of Dutch mid-century modernism. They are in good vintage condition, with the leather having developed a rich patina over time, enhancing their character. The stitching on one of the seats is in immaculate condition. The stitching on the other needs repair in some areas. No repairs have been attempted that have altered the leather in any way. Both the wood and leather are in excellent condition.
