DESCRIPTION:
The "Mogensen 22 Collection" is the epitome of Børge Mogensen as a designer and artist, but also the image of Danish design in the mid-20th century. The series embodies Mogensen's unique sense of proportion, which has defined the versatility of the furniture throughout his life. The focus of Børge Mogensen's furniture design was on people and their lives, and with the "22 Collection" in particular, the aim was to create the ultimate sofa. The sofa was first designed for Mogensen's own home in 1962, and shortly afterwards the series was expanded with further versions of sofas, armchairs and stools. Mogensen's uncompromising approach to the quality of furniture has become the heart of Fredericia Furniture, which preserves the spirit of originality in production through handcrafted joinery. This unique craftsmanship ensures that the furniture has a long life with high-end quality.
The construction of the armchair is based on clean lines like the sofa, viewed in profile, the furniture shows a beautiful curved contour of the armrests and backrest, which also offers fantastic seating comfort. A piped seam outlines the silhouette of the armchair and gives the furniture the finishing touch. Four solid oak legs support the furniture and give it height. The result is a formal yet comfortable seating experience that suits both private and public spaces.

DESIGNER:
Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) was one of the most influential designers shaping modern Danish design and the founding designer of Fredericia. He was a trained carpenter and furniture designer, attended the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts, and subsequently the School of Furniture Design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, where he was taught by Kaare Klint. Mogensen found inspiration worldwide in his quest to create everyday objects that would last for generations and believed that furniture should convey a sense of calm and a modest appearance. He was celebrated for his masterful sense of materials and proportions, creating designs that are exhibited and admired in leading design museums worldwide. In 1950 Mogensen was awarded the Eckersberg Medal, in 1953 he won the Copenhagen Carpentry Guild's annual prize and in 1972 he received the C. F. Hansen Medal.

- naturally grained cowhide nappa leather, originally grown, unique in the pattern of pores, grain and surface structure, dyed through in the aniline barrel, lightly pigmented (semi-aniline), easy to care for, hard-wearing and yet soft and supple, with high durability and value retention

The photos are high exposed, so that the 1a condition is also visible in detail! Colors are generally brighter (black then grayer). The shadow areas or the areas not directly illuminated by the photo light best reflect the natural color tones. Gloss on the photos or grayish or milky areas are also due to exposure or lighting (reflections). The surfaces are silk matt to silk gloss.

CONDITION:
Like new! This ensemble is almost indistinguishable from new and has virtually no signs of use. It is something very special, you might get something like this once in a lifetime. It is the butter-soft original premium leather with the original cushions made of pure down (which are no longer available from Fredericia in this version). These still have their original fullness as they were when they were delivered and have not been flattened or filled in later!
No matter where you look, it looks like new! Even the back of the cushions or the cushion cover look like new! The legs also look like new, the usual scratches and abrasions are nowhere to be found!
There is simply no need to describe more. Here, too, you are welcome to go on a worldwide search, you won't find it anywhere in better condition. Definitely something that makes a collector's heart beat faster and cannot be compared with the usual used ensembles, or ensembles that are no longer original because the leather or upholstery has been replaced due to advanced wear. The quirks and scratches from decades of use can still be found on the legs.
This ensemble here is in a completely different league, its own!

Inexpensive non-EU transportation by general cargo forwarder in a special wooden crate may also be possible.
