Art Deco vase in orange pulvérulent glass with wrought metal mounting, ca. 1925–1935
Decorative Art Deco vase in mouth-blown orange "tango" glass with a characteristic cloudy, powdered texture (pulvérulent technique). The upper part features a wide, turned-over collar; the lower part rests on three attached feet in clear glass with a slight green-yellow tinge.
Around the center is a broad band of wrought, patinated copper/bronze with a row of diamond-shaped cutouts through which the orange glass protrudes in a pyramidal cabochon shape — a beautiful interplay of warm glass and dark metal.
Style and execution refer to the Franco-Bohemian Art Deco idiom of makers such as Schneider (Le Verre Français), Daum Nancy, and Czech glassworks such as Kralik and Loetz, who produced similar combinations of colored glass and wrought metal during the same period. Unsigned. Dimensions: 12 cm high × 10 cm diameter
Weight: 467 grams
Period: approx. 1925–1935
Condition: in good vintage condition, with natural patina on the metal. Glass without chips or cracks.
Origin: presumably Bohemia or France
An atmospheric statement piece for the Art Deco enthusiast or as an eye-catcher in a modern interior.
