This beautiful set was originally part of a complete Art Deco "Salon Suite" that has been in our family for over 70 years. Originally purchased at the Roldestraat in Assen (The Netherlands), these chairs are now looking for a new home.
These chairs are a classic hallmark of high-end interwar salon suites (c. 1920–1950).
Quality & Restoration:
Originally upholstered in green, the set underwent a full professional restoration and reupholstery about 20 years ago. They were finished in a high-quality, dusty rose (old pink) velvet fabric. The craftsmanship was top-tier, with restoration costs at the time totaling approximately €4,000 for the complete set of four.
Condition:
• Fabric: In very neat condition, no tears or heavy wear.
• Woodwork: Beautiful vintage condition with a rich patina consistent with age.
• Internal: The chairs feature traditional spiral springs. For two of the chairs, the internal binding of the springs could use a professional tension adjustment ("re-binding") for optimal comfort, though they are still functional.
Note: Minor color nuances in the velvet due to natural light exposure over the years.
