Arne Vodder was a Danish designer and architect. A close friend of Finn Juhl, he is considered one of the most important figures in Danish design today. Vodder's work is characterized by a perfect combination of simplicity, functionality, and sophisticated aesthetics. His timeless and elegant designs are now sought after objects among collectors and gallery owners.
This sideboard was designed by Arne Vodder in the 1960s for Skovby Møbelfabrik. This model was later produced by Dyrlund. The two manufacturers' production facilities were only a few kilometers apart. However, how the collaboration came about can no longer be determined.
The sideboard features a central section with drawers of various sizes, flanked by four large compartments with sliding doors. Particularly striking are the elegant door handles and the dovetail joints of the drawer fronts. The grain of the teakwood is spectacular!
Overall, very good condition. Two small damaged areas on one door handle have been repaired with wood putty. There are small defects in the veneer on the drawers.
