This vintage Thonet S 35 armchair is an eye-catcher in any interior for anyone who loves tubular furniture and Bauhaus.
It is an early edition (likely 1950s).
The frame is finished in chrome and is in good condition without damage. The upholstery is made of sleek black core leather, as are the armrests.
The chair has been used and minimal scratches are visible on the seat, but the leather has actually become more beautiful with use.
The five leather tension straps have been expertly restored and are in excellent condition. The original Thonet sticker is present on the frame.
The S 35 by Thonet was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1930. This beautiful tubular steel construction was a new innovation in the 1920s. The seat and armrests spring independently of each other, allowing you to float wonderfully in this chair.
