Product description
This striking design chair called Notorious was created in 1988 by Massimo Iosa Ghini for the Italian manufacturer Moroso and is one of the most expressive designs of postmodernism.
Its characteristic feature is the curved frame made of chrome-plated tubular steel, which forms a sculptural silhouette and is combined with black wood for the backrest and armrests.
The oval backrest is mounted on two angled struts and appears to float. The seat and side sections are made of a rich purple fabric that stretches like a fan and lends the furniture lightness and dynamism. The elliptical shapes and contrasting colors are exemplary of Iosa Ghini's idiosyncratic, futuristic style between Memphis Group and high-tech aesthetics.
