Magnificent B261 armchair by Emile Guillot for Thonet, dating from the 1930s.
This armchair has a chromed steel frame.
The backrest, seat, and armrest are made of wood and have never been touched or altered.
We have decided not to modify or repaint this armchair in order to preserve its original patina.
The unique feature of this armchair lies in its tubular frame, which was crafted continuously from a single piece.
The armchair is in very good structural condition. It has no missing parts or damage.
However, it does show numerous signs of wear consistent with age and the life this magnificent armchair has enjoyed, as you can see in the photos.
It was part of an exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Reims, France.
