Armchair with chromed metal frame and padded cognac-colored leather seat. Attributed to Peter Hoyte, English production, 1970s.
Armchair attributed to Peter Hoyte. The chrome-plated metal frame is defined by a continuous and light line that follows the inclination of the seat and backrest, creating a fluid and well-balanced profile. The cognac leather upholstery features a regular button tufting that structures the surface, while the construction with a supporting rear canvas introduces flexibility and naturally supports the cushion. The seat, wide and low, is designed for a relaxed use, in line with the language of European lounge chairs of the period. This typology is consistent with English production of the 1970s, characterized by light metal structures and upholstered seating designed for informal comfort.
