This daybed is the Ariadne model, designed by the celebrated Dutch designer Friso Kramer for Auping, the renowned Dutch manufacturer known for its quality bed and daybed production. Designed in the 1960s, the Ariadne is a clean, architectural piece in solid teak, with a low 40 cm profile and a generous 196 x 84 cm surface that makes it equally suited as a daybed, a sofa bench, or a reading platform. Friso Kramer's work is increasingly sought after by collectors of Dutch and Scandinavian modernist design. Condition and Character Original condition with signs of use on the frame, one larger stain on the seating surface, and chips and marks on the side panels.
