Product description
THE PRODUCT
An iconic, padded sofa with the most stunning rounded shapes. Designed by Mario Marenco in 1970.

THE MATERIAL
Base of plywood with fiber covering. Backrests and armrests: main structure of metal. Each element (back, seat, arm) is individually padded and upholstered.
Padding of stress-resistant polyurethane foam with different densities and fiber padding. Fully removable cover, except for the leather version. Metal legs.
THE MAKER
In 1947 Carlo Barassi, an engineer at Pirelli, together with Renato Teani, working in Pirelli's finance department, Pio Reggiani and Aldo Bai, founded the company Ar-flex (flexible furniture), which later became arflex.
They collaborated with the young architect Marzo Zanuso and began experimenting with the use of foam rubber and elastic bands for the furniture market.
