Antique faux bamboo mirror with its original weathered mirror plate and back, entirely in Chinoiserie style; this style was very popular during the Art Nouveau period, originating from France. This particular piece dates from the early 20th century.
This beautiful wooden frame has been carved and worked to resemble real bamboo, hence the name faux bamboo. This piece bears a very beautiful, characterful patina of age. The mirror glass is decoratively speckled and weathered, which is common in very old mirrors and highly desirable among collectors.
This object is in good antique condition, showing signs of age and use consistent with its age and material. The varnish layer displays a decorative crackle effect; check the photos for more details!
