Rare and characterful antique rocking horse/draft horse from the late 19th century (ca. 1885–1895). The horse is constructed from a wooden core, covered with papier-mâché and linen, and finished with leather tack, hand-forged metal parts, and original horsehair (tail).
The object is in authentic, unrestored condition with a beautiful natural patina. Wear, discoloration, and old repairs are visible and contribute to its historic appearance. This type of horse was originally made as a luxury toy and decorative object and is now rare in this size and design.
A special piece for antique enthusiasts, collectors, interior designers, or as a statement piece in a room. Details
