Product description
A splendid and elegant antique wall-mounted washbasin (ewer), presumably dating back to the first half of the 20th century.
A charming piece that combines period practicality with strong decorative and symbolic value.
The piece is composed of a refined, shaped solid wood base upon which two brass elements are mounted:
The upper basin features a lid and a perfectly integrated butterfly valve. It is topped with a cross decoration, suggesting its original use in religious settings (sacristies) or in noble homes of the period.
The matching lower basin (draining basin) has a stylized shell shape.
The brass features a splendid original patina, certifying its authenticity and age.
The wood is solid and well preserved. Ideal as a decorative element for entryways, taverns, country homes, or to enhance a collection of sacred and antique objects.
