Exceptional Tramp Art furniture, sideboard, buffet. Collector's item.
Tramp Art is a form of folk art that was popular from the 1870s to the 1940s. It involved carving small pieces of wood, usually from old cigar boxes, into which geometric shapes were layered and glued or nailed. The art form included various objects such as boxes, frames, clock cases, and occasionally even small pieces of furniture, as is the case here. The name "tramp art" refers to the original creators, such as itinerant workers or "wanderers," who made these pieces to sell or barter for food and shelter.
