Pair of Thonet / TON bentwood chairs, associated with the design language of the Vienna Secession, produced in the first half of the 20th century. These chairs reflect a design approach focused on visual lightness, ergonomics and everyday functionality, characteristic of Central European furniture of the period.
Made from bent beechwood, using the technique pioneered by Thonet and later continued by TON, both chairs share the same construction principles while showing subtle differences in proportions and backrest shape. Such variations are typical of sets assembled over time and add to their character.
The surfaces show a natural, even patina with visible signs of use consistent with age, without compromising structural integrity. A practical and versatile pair, suitable for dining areas, cafés, studios or contemporary interiors with a historical reference.
They are undoubtedly true Thonet chairs; although most of them no longer have any identifying markings or stamps, one of them still bears the original Thonet label.
