Product description
Antique handmade blown glass dome with his original fitting wooden base.
There is a groove in the base for the glass dome to sit in.
The dome is made manual back in the time so the glass is not "as perfect" as they can do in these days.
In the 19th century, more specified the Victorian era they made it with other kind of materials that were not so pure.
This reflects in unique details as light bells, minor imperfections in the glass, this gives the dome more character and flair
We purchase all or domes ourselves in Europe mostly France. When the domes come in we start with washing them, then treet the foot against woodworm and check the foot on his stability.
So that the foot does not wobble on your surface.
In the time the domes were often on the mantelpiece witch the foot had different sircumstances, cold in the summer and hot in the winter.
Wood is a natural product so the foot adapted at the mantlepiece.
The dimensions are taken from the inside of the glass, so from the usable space.
So you can decorate your items dust free under it.
