Antique oil on canvas from 1867 - J. Gärtner (German School) in a luxurious baroque frame
For sale is an extremely well-preserved, authentic antique painting from the second half of the 19th century (1867). It is a beautiful, atmospheric winter landscape with a hut, executed in the spirit of European academicism and the Western European school of painting.
Technique: Oil on canvas (or canvas laminated to cardboard / high-grain painter's cardboard with a canvas texture).
Author: J. Gärtner (recognizable cursive signature in the lower right corner along with the year).
Year of creation: 1867.
Dimensions: 62 x 52 cm (with frame).
Frame: The painting is sold in its original massive baroque/salon frame with rich stucco and plaster ornamentation, which in itself represents great value and gives the painting an exceptional salon effect.
Item Status:
The painting is in excellent condition for its age, with a beautiful patina. The colored layer is stable and preserved. There are minimal, barely visible signs of age on the frame in the form of slight crowning of the plaster on the very edges, which is common for authentic pieces from this period and does not detract from the aesthetics.
Ideal for furnishing salon apartments, offices, as well as for serious collectors of European antiques.
