ANTIQUE OAK NESTING TABLES – SET OF THREE | TITCHMARSH & GOODWIN STYLE | JACOBEAN OAK
An exceptionally beautiful set of three solid oak nesting tables in the renowned Titchmarsh & Goodwin style.
The dark, rich patina is truly indescribably beautiful — this is not manufacturing quality, but heritage quality.
🏛️ ORIGIN & PERIOD
- English, ca. 1920
- Crafted in the Jacobean tradition — also known as ‘Stressed Oak’ or ‘Georgian Style’.
- The wood is originally hardened, which explains the warm, deep color and authentic appearance.
✨ WHAT MAKES THIS SET SPECIAL?
The three tables are made exclusively of solid oak of the highest quality, finished using traditional artisanal methods. Characteristic features include the hand-sawn joints, the visible mortise and tenon joints for extra strength, and the elegantly ring-turned legs in a classic rifle stock shape on sturdy block feet.
The frieze of the large table features decorative grooves and curved corner moldings — details that underscore the craftsmanship.
The two smaller tables slide underneath the large table on either side via a special wooden rail system. In doing so, the rail system lifts the small tables slightly (a few millimeters) so that they hang somewhat floating from the large table — an ingenious and refined construction that highlights the maker's craftsmanship. 🪵 MATERIAL & FINISH
