This antique chaise longue from the Napoleon III era features a classic structure ready for restoration. Its characteristic asymmetrical design offers an elegant silhouette, ideal for a bespoke upholstery project. The piece rests on a sturdy wooden frame, supported by turned legs painted black. Currently covered with a protective white canvas, it reveals the original webbing and springs beneath the seat, attesting to its traditional handcrafted construction. The generous dimensions of the seat invite relaxation. The well-shaped horsehair/spring padding is ready to receive its new fabric. The chaise longue is in a condition requiring complete restoration of the upholstery and fabric. The wooden frame remains solid, and the turned legs retain their structural integrity, providing an excellent base for renovation. Authenticity & Patina: The legs show slight signs of age and traces of original woodworm, authentic evidence of its period (19th century). The wood is sound and has been preventively treated.
