An exceptional, high-quality late 19th-century/early 20th-century (circa 1880–1920) side table crafted in the elegant Neoclassical (Louis XVI) style.
This is a premium, bench-made revival piece featuring a stunning, heavy slab of genuine fossilized Brocatelle marble sitting on a finely turned wood frame. It features heavy, solid cast-brass (ormolu) decorative accents that elevate it far above standard vintage reproductions. Perfect as a bedroom bedside table, hallway console, or living room focal piece.
Premium Craftsmanship Details:
The Top: A magnificent, thick molded slab of authentic Brocatelle marble. It features a rich golden-tan matrix filled with beautiful, natural cream shell inclusions and fossil veining. Completely removable for safe transport.
The Metalwork: Elegant, solid cast-brass column collars and classical acanthus leaf sabots (protective metal feet) fitted tightly to the legs.
The Carving: Beautifully turned, fluted column legs anchored by classic square corner blocks with deeply carved floral rosettes (paterae).
The Apron: Straight wood grain panels accented with a delicate, continuous recessed gold beaded border and classical dentil trim.
Condition:
Excellent vintage/antique condition. The frame is structurally solid, stable, and rigid. The marble slab is clean and completely intact with a beautiful naturally honed patina. Features minor, authentic age-related wood grain shrinkage lines on the apron panels and a gorgeous natural patina on the brass elements, perfectly emphasizing its late Victorian/Belle Époque era heritage.
