Antique carved oak corner chair, Italian-made, entirely in Renaissance style, second half of the 19th century, circa 1880.
This is an antique replica of an older model. The seat is upholstered in red velvet, the cushion is filled with horsehair. A putti is depicted centrally on the chair's frame. The armrests are finished with lion heads, and the backrest features bird heads. The whole piece is elaborately decorated with acanthus leaves, making it of very high quality for its time.
The chair has a beautiful patina due to age and use. One leg has warped slightly over the years, a large chip from another leg, and old traces of woodworm. The chair is "dans son jus" (literally, "in good condition") and is in its original condition, still very sturdy and solid. Check the photos for more details!
