Offered for acquisition: an atmospheric and highly detailed work on paper (hand-colored etching or watercolor) of a craftsman at work in his studio. This authentic snapshot from 1925 shows a ceramic painter decorating a vase with intense concentration. The scene is full of characteristic details, such as the vases on the shelf, brushes in a small jar, and a classical bust on the cabinet. A unique 'treasure' that, due to its age and artisanal subject matter, immediately adds atmosphere to a modern or classic interior (at home or in the office). DETAILS ▫️ Subject: Ceramicist / Ceramic painter in his studio ▫️ Year: 1925 (fully hand-signed and dated '25 bottom right) ▫️ Signature: Elegantly written and dated. The name is difficult to decipher with 100% certainty (possibly D. Vrijdag), see the detail photo. ▫️ Technique: Hand-colored etching / Watercolor on paper ▫️ Dimensions: 50 cm (h) x 37 cm (w) including frame ▫️ Condition: The image itself is in excellent condition and has beautiful colors. The passe-partout has discolored (yellowed) in a charming way over the years, which suits its age. ▫️ Frame: Fitted with the original black wooden frame. This shows light signs of wear and a small chip, fitting the antique character. ABOUT THIS TREASURE This artwork was personally selected by me out of a passion for the mix between classic and modern. As an active hobbyist, I look for art that immediately adds character and atmosphere to an interior (at home or in the office).
