This antique, richly hand-carved sewing table (also perfect as a side table) is a beautiful example of colonial craftsmanship from the late 19th or early 20th century.
Crafted from heavy, dark hardwood (teak or rosewood).
The piece of furniture features breathtaking deep relief carving all around. The wavy lid displays a beautiful symmetrical pattern with two central peacocks, floral motifs, and mythological Naga snakes along the edges.
The hinged lid opens to a deep storage compartment. The base features whimsically carved legs and a decorated intermediate shelf.
Condition: Beautiful, authentic antique condition with a lovely weathered patina. The wood carving is very sharp and completely intact.
