Beautiful, authentic French jewelry box (boîte à bijoux) from the Belle Époque period (around 1900). This atmospheric box is made of heavy, thick panels of faceted crystal glass, set in an elegantly stamped brass frame with a characteristic wave pattern.
On the lid, beneath the glass, is an original, hand-colored souvenir image of a French coastal town (presumably Biarritz or Nice), subtly inlaid with shimmering accents of genuine mother-of-pearl. The interior features the original padded silk cushion for resting valuables.
A beautiful and rare decorative object with a rich history, perfect for lovers of French brocante and unique antiques.
