Antique English Sheraton Revival Rosewood Inlaid Server / Buffet – Late 19th Century
An outstanding late 19th-century English Sheraton Revival server or buffet, beautifully crafted in rich rosewood and exquisitely decorated with intricate scrolling foliage marquetry. This exceptional antique is a wonderful example of the refined craftsmanship and elegant proportions that made the Sheraton style one of the most admired furniture designs of the period.
The server features a striking stepped raised back, complete with mirrored panels to either side, adding depth and elegance while beautifully displaying decorative items. The finely inlaid marquetry, with its flowing foliate motifs, demonstrates the remarkable skill of the cabinet maker and creates a true statement piece.
Offering both beauty and practicality, the buffet provides excellent storage throughout. There are two small drawers, one to each side, ideal for cutlery or table linens, together with two side cupboards concealed behind panelled doors.
