Antique Victorian turned oak stool dating from around 1880.
The stool stands on splayed barley-twist legs connected by a tapered cross stretcher, finished with a decorative inverted finial at the center. The design gives the piece plenty of charm and classic Victorian character.
It is solidly constructed with a carved and shaped oak seat. The foliate carving is typical for stools of this period, and the gently dished seat with rounded edges adds extra comfort.
The English oak shows attractive honey and russet tones with a lovely aged patina, enhanced by a wax-polished finish.
The stool is sturdy with tight, solid joints and will be delivered freshly waxed, polished, and ready to use in the home.
