A rare French lantern clock by Regnault à Paris, made around 1730. The brass case has four corner columns with balusters, a decorative front with foliage motifs and a baluster on top. The dial is brass with Roman numerals and an alarm disc with Arabic numerals, signed by the maker.
The movement is of bronze with verge escapement, driven by cord and weight. Dimensions: 27 × 9 × 10 cm. This clock is a fine example of 18th-century French horology and served both as a functional timepiece and as a decorative object.
