Superb antique tile (circa 1870-1900) in glazed terracotta, octagonal in shape, originating from the Triana region (Seville) in Andalusia.
This tile features a hand-painted central motif of a rooster, a traditional symbol of vigilance and courage. The bird is surrounded by a rich, stylized floral frieze and a five-petaled flower, evoking the Renaissance and Mudéjar influences typical of Andalusian production.
Good antique condition. A few small chips and signs of wear on the edges, consistent with the age of the piece. The back of the tile has been carefully lined with protective green felt, ideal for immediate use as a trivet or decorative object.
Perfect for adding an ethnic, bohemian chic, or historical touch to your interior, placed on a piece of furniture or framed on the wall.
