A very unique and rare Victorian fan and floor lamp in one. Made entirely of cast iron, manufactured by The Cincinnati Victor Co. in the USA.
This special fan was often used in funeral homes in the United States, where the fan kept flies away from the corpse, masked the smell, and illuminated the body with a soft, warm glow thanks to the faux candles.
The fan was designed by Charles D. Ryder and patented in 1929. The fan/lamp was also used in sitting rooms and smoking rooms.
The lamp and the fan can be switched on and off separately using the buttons on the front. The angle of the fan can be adjusted. A transformer is included to allow it to be used on current power supplies. Equipped with E
