A matched pair of Amanta armchairs by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, late 1960s. Original dark chocolate velvet upholstery over the iconic molded shell, with the sculptural low-profile base that gives the Amanta its unmistakable floating stance.
Both chairs retain their original B&B Italia label. The velvet shows the kind of soft, honest patina that only comes with age. One chair has a small seam tear to the underside of the seat cushion, invisible when seated and unnoticeable from any normal viewing angle. Structurally solid throughout.
The Amanta was one of the first chairs to use a fiberglass shell as its primary structure, and it looked like nothing else in 1966. It still does.
