For sale is a beautiful, original color etching by the renowned German artist Alexander Befelein (born 1952 in Regensburg) from 1984.
The work depicts a delicate, artistically interpreted skyline of Cologne on the Rhine. At its center is the imposing, darkly accentuated silhouette of Cologne Cathedral. The scene is flanked on the left by the characteristic arches of the Hohenzollern Bridge and on the right by historical elements of Cologne's Old Town. The work captivates with its fine needlework combined with subtly placed color accents.
This is an absolute collector's rarity: The print bears the very low number 2 of only 150 copies worldwide.
Early prints like this one are characterized by exceptional detail and sharpness, as the printing plate showed no signs of wear.
