Product description
This is a cocktail shaker by Officina Alessi, a re-edition of an iconic design from the Bauhaus school. The piece, model 90027, is attributed to the Swedish designer Sylvia Stave and was originally designed around 1925. The design is a prime example of modernism, with its perfectly spherical body and sleek, functional lines.
The shaker is manufactured in Italy from high-gloss polished 18/10 stainless steel, ensuring a durable and mirrored finish. The design consists of three parts: the spherical jug, an integrated strainer, and a lid with a geometric knob. The elegant, curved handle adds both aesthetic and functional value. With a height of 18 cm and a diameter of 13.8 cm, this object has a substantial presence. Capacity 100cl.
Originally, the design was mistakenly attributed to Bauhaus designer Marianne Brandt, but later research assigned it to Sylvia Stave and her work for the firm C.G. Hallberg in Stockholm. This specific version is part of Alessi's historical collection and was produced in 1989.
It is in excellent condition, reflecting the quality of the design and manufacturing. As a sculptural object, this cocktail shaker is a refined addition to a bar cabinet or sideboard.
