This set of three stackable stools, known as Model 202, was designed in 1958 by the renowned Japanese designer Isamu Kenmochi for the manufacturer Akita Mokko. The design is characterized by an elegant, curved wooden structure that combines functionality with a refined aesthetic, typical of post-war Japanese modernism.
The stools are crafted from bentwood with a warm, dark brown finish. The seats are upholstered in blue faux leather, creating a striking contrast with the wooden frame. The original Akita Mokko brand stickers are still present on the underside, confirming the authenticity of this set. The stackable design makes them particularly practical for spaces where flexibility is desired.
The set is in good vintage condition, commensurate with age and use. The construction is sturdy and the original finish has been preserved, contributing to the stools' authentic character.
