A beautiful, old, life-size bust of Christ in an abstract or brutal style, made of terracotta. This sculpture likely dates from the first half of the 20th century. It has a beautiful patina of age, and is unsigned.
This raw sculpture was made by a skilled amateur sculptor. The artist has successfully captured the emotion in the face. In this sculpture, Christ's face is slightly turned downward, as depicted in the bronze Renaissance masterpiece "The Incredulity of St. Thomas" by Andrea del Verrocchio.
This object is in excellent vintage condition, with signs of age and use consistent with its age and material. A few minor chips along the lower edge are not obtrusive. Please see the photos for more details!
