This set of two dining chairs was designed by A.A. Patijn for the Dutch furniture manufacturer Zijlstra Joure in the 1950s. The design is characterized by the elegant, openwork backrest with slender spindles, giving the chairs a refined and airy appearance. The chairs are crafted from wood and feature a warm, brown hue typical of Mid-Century Modern design from this period. The seats are upholstered in a textile with a subtle geometric pattern in beige and grey tones. The tapered legs contribute to the distinctive silhouette of post-war Dutch furniture design. The chairs are in a condition commensurate with age and use, while retaining their original character and construction.
